The flow of a treatment
If this is your first appointment you will be sent a patient intake form when you book. When you come in for the appointment we will further explore the reason why you are coming in (which will have been supplied on the intake form). TCM diagnostics - pulse, tongue, observation, palpation and discussion - will be used to establish a diagnosis. A treatment plan will be formed and described to you. If you are in agreement with the proposed treatment, application of the described methods of treatment will be applied. An hour and a half is allowed for in the initial consultation.
Follow-up consultations will expand on the initial consultation and generally follow the same format. Your response to the initial treatment will be discussed and if the current treatment plan needs adjusting, this will be described to you for your consent and the application of the described methods of treatment will be applied. Follow-up treatments are for 1 hour.

Any questions you have throughout all treatments are welcomed and encouraged.

What to expect post treatment
I would love to say that you will feel absolutely wonderful every time...however, the reality is that every person's response to treatment is individual. The most certain response is that your body will be processing the treatment and adjusting itself to find your homeostasis and feeling of wellbeing. This could take the form of a feeling of euphoria, a feeling of being tired, a sense of wellbeing or a sense of increased illness - there are numerous responses. Overall, adverse events are infrequent when qualified practitioners follow sterile protocols and quality‑controlled herbal supplements.
No matter what your response is, it is important to be aware of it.

Please note: While TCM and acupuncture have very few side effects, if increased discomfort lasts for more than 3 days and you are concerned, contacting the clinic to discuss the issue is encouraged and supported.
